Die Before You Die

Do you know why you don’t feel comfortable in your own skin? Why you hesitate from all that’s real in conversation? Why you bide your time in relationships rather than really nurturing them, facing each other’s feelings with open eyes? It’s because you’re unsure of yourself. 

   That is to say, you do not understand your SELF. You do not realize your “self” is not you, because YOU can observe your SELF. 

   Now watch it flail and try to hide.

   Then watch it fight, then watch it cry.

   Watch it reemerge and play pretend,

   Pretend it’s “awake” “alive” or “present”

   But only through watching it, will you ever watch it die; you cannot be reborn until then.
