Dissolve Expectations–Accept Reality
You can sit in disappointment forever, expecting your loved ones to treat you better, wishing the world was different and condemning its people for what they are not. Or you can embrace one of the few ethical frameworks free of such self-righteous nonsense: change the inside, change the outside. You expect better? Expect reality; that is, whatever comes. Are things going the way you planned? Who said they should go your way? People need more goodness? That’s judgment. Why not work on your own acceptance? Are you looking outward? Look inward. Are you correcting wrongs and judging judgments? Silence! Externally and internally. Want to see more love in the world? Look for it! Want to see more acceptance in the world? Accept it for what it is. Walk around wanting change and expecting to fix things, and you’ll only break yourself. Walk around with peace of mind and love in your heart, and regardless of what the world might objectively be, you will positively, but inadvertently, influence it for the best.
