We’re the Wrong People
We aren’t the right people for the job. We aren’t endurance athletes, and neither of us trained aerobically. Neither are we physically endowed for such a thing. Paige struggles with asthma, and Torin has the flattest feet most people have seen. Nor are we financially well off. We started with little over $200, and will likely never be able to pay for hotels along the way or a follow vehicle (not that we would if we could.) And we do not have a family history of adventure and exploration. But more than any of that, we were never people people. There wasn’t an extroverted bone in our bodies. Torin straight up hated humanity, and Paige was too shy to order her own food. It’s amazing what miracles the right experiences, the right information, and an open mind can do. We aren’t the right people for the job, and it’s precisely because of that, that we’re just the right people for the job.
