What We Walk Against

We are not optimists. We are not here to convince people that the world is only good. We make it easy to miss, but the walk is motivated by the worst of the world. It is a walk against many things. We walk against distracted and impaired drivers as a reminder that their attention belongs on the wheel. We walk against society's treatment of homeless people as a reminder that you don’t have to live conventionally to contribute to society. We walk against the divide between people of different political affiliations and religions, showing that you can love anyone with the right perspective. We walk against the prioritization of money over people and business over community. We walk against the demonization of the other side or those we consider to be unlike us. We walk against absolutism, greed, control, indifference, hate, and closed mindedness. But unlike many who share these same concerns, we find folly in battling these directly. Such a course will lead you to the very mindset and behaviors you oppose. You do not fight fire with fire, you extinguish the flames with their opposing element. And so we walk for the individual. We walk for a resilient, positive perspective. We walk to open minds. We walk to open hearts. And we walk to prioritize love above all other things.
