The Social Challenge and Reward

   If I didn’t know any better, I would imagine it to be the physical struggle of the walk that was most challenging! But in reality, it’s the social aspect! Constantly going through first impressions with people that are trying to make sure you’re not up to no good is very psychologically draining. It’s draining to be under observation all the time, more than I would have ever realized until experiencing it. But the people of the journey are also where all the reward, fulfillment, and meaning is made! Every time you see a host post, remember that it’s more than the sum of its contents. It’s exposure therapy for us and everyone else watching! Look! Different people, who are certain to disagree on certain things, getting along! Every host is a window into the reality that is the reciprocal nature of the world, another sample of evidence showing that we can get along if we develop the right perspectives of each other, and an insight into the diverse ways of experiencing life on this big beautiful rock!
