The Wellspring Within

Hey, silly! If the outside world doesn’t have what you seek, why not look inside? Deep deep down, where there’s no place to hide!

You know! The place you least want to go. Where, beyond the self, appears a big black hole.

A void of wonder and whimsy that seems blank at first, but from it spring forth visions of magic and feelings of mirth.

You knew it as a child. It didn’t go anywhere. It got covered up, when you started worrying about your hair.

Or perhaps it was your grades and the impressions you made.

But it’s still ready and waiting! Like a courtship it blossoms… after some foreplay and dating.

We know you’ve not seen all it has in store. It’s been a decade inside, and we’re STILL learning more!

“What is this talking? And all of this squawking?”

Nothing therein! Silence is actually where it begins!

We curl our fingers and invite you to come. With words we communicate, but that’s not where wisdom’s from.

It bubbles forth from a wellspring, shrouded by will. Enveloped by constructions, illusions of egoic skill.

You can’t bring your Self there; you're much too heavy. But abandon mind and body, and you will find life’s waters beyond the levy.

What follows then flows, an understanding that knows.

It sees the light within the dark. It knows the song of every bird. It doesn’t hear the human bark. It knows expression before word.

It leads you to a happiness contingent on none. Neither material nor property nor the opinion of anyone.

“We are social creatures,” some might say, but in a world of infirmity, the universe is still at play.

So don’t be a stranger! No need for a sigh. The universe and the present are still here when we die.

Find the path beyond illusion, and see for yourself.
