Good Dogs Bite

Even the most loving, good natured dogs will bite someone to defend themselves, their owner, or another animal. That doesn’t make them a bad dog. It doesn’t make them a mean dog. It doesn’t make them a dangerous dog. But the person they bite, and those who care about them, are likely to villainize even a dog. Whether that dog was trained to defend or trained to love. Whether that dog was scared or confused. Whether or not they were well mannered in every moment prior. Whether or not factors outside of its control, like genetic variation, predisposed the dog to bite someone. Whether or not those predispositions were entirely at fault, when the dog had been as loving as could be with such cards stacked against it. 

   Stop pretending you know good and bad. Stop pretending you know right and wrong. Things simply are. Make do with it, and shut up about the rest.
